m o k r o ï é are a collaboration between singer Carol Aplogan and electronic music producer Francesco Virgilio.
Since they started collaborating in 2006, the duo have significantly developed their sound by continuously including more influences. They built their live project with Julien GB and Nugzar, created live visuals, and produced their own music videos. In 2013, they released two EPs under the name m o k r o ï é.
m o k r o ï é's music consists of the creation of ethereal ambiances - at times cinematic - and through the exploration of sonorous textures and rhythms with diverse origins, they develop arrangements that are unexpected but accessible to a wide audience. They are influenced by the likes of Massive Attack, Depeche Mode, Unkle, Bjork, Kraftwerk, Portishead, Talk Talk, Ennio Morricone and Dead Can Dance.
