Vashti Bunyan Adds Rare Live Shows

After a fairly long break away from live performance, Edinburgh-based Vashti Bunyan returns with the announcement a number of new live dates. Her first comes at the end of this month, where she performs at "Homelights", a weekend of music and visuals co-curated by Adrian Crowley and independent music promoters Foggy Notions, which takes place on the weekend of November 29th in Dublin, Ireland. A sister festival to Adem’s "Homefires" in London and the Fence Collective’s "Homegame" in Fife, it draws upon the themes of community and artistic kinship. The line-up features numerous artists who Adrian has forged friendships with on his musical travels during his career to date.
Following this one-off, Vashti returns in the new year taking part in the Joe Boyd-curated 'Way To Blue' series of shows paying homage to Nick Drake. It’s now a quarter-century since Drake’s untimely death at 26, which sadly preceded his recognition as one of the 20th century’s most profoundly influential singer-songwriters. His fragile, acoustic, autumnal music is still cited as an inspiration today by many, and has touched the hearts of millions through Drake’s own three albums. This very special tribute concert, curated by his original producer Boyd, features the late Robert Kirby’s orchestrations from those same LPs, which are also recalled by the presence of Drake’s chosen bassist, Danny Thompson, who’ll be anchoring the house band. Other guests include Vashti, Green Gartside, Teddy Thompson, Robyn Hirchcock, Kristle Warren and Lisa Hannigan who will all celebrate Drake’s enduring legacy via modern reinterpretations of his timeless songs.

Finally, Vashti heads East in March, for a couple of shows in Japan and one in Singapore. More shows next year will hopefully be announced soon, but for now, the full list of currently-confirmed dates runs as follows:
