Craig Orzel leaves The Twilight Sad

FatCat Records are sad to announce the news that Craig Orzel, bassist with The Twilight Sad has decided to leave the band. This is a decision he has made for personal reasons and the band have posted up a letter from him on their new blog which explains this. This can be found here.

In more positive news the band have confirmed that they will continue touring from March and have used their new blog as a platform to post tour dates and promote a new t-shirt which features the figure on the artwork of their last album Forget The Night Ahead and is a very striking garment indeed.

Hauschka announces short US tour + SXSW appearance

FatCat prepared-pianist/maestro Hauschka has announced a short run of US tour dates surrounding an appearance at Austin's SXSW festival in March. Hauschka will be co-billed with composer/pianist Dustin O'Halloran along this tour, and will be accompanied in NYC by familiar faces from ACME, and in San Francisco and Los Angeles, will once again be performing alongside members of Magik`Magik Orchestra.

During this tour, Hauschka will be visiting some special musical venues: the gorgeous Central Presbyterian Church in Austin for his SXSW appearance (where FatCat was lucky enough to have a showcase in 2007), and the newly-restored Masonic Lodge at the famous Hollywood Forever cemetery, a beautiful space which has recently hosted Bon Iver, St. Vincent, Swell Season, and others.

NME have posted up a free mp3 of The Twilight Sad's remix of 'Bridge or Cloud' by Errors as part of their 'Daily Download' feature. It is a beautiful track in its own right and harnesses the distinctive electronic sound of Errors and combines it with the dynamic sensibilities and brooding darkness of the Twilight Sad.
